The Arab world, Jordan included, will be among the winners of global economic changes, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at a Jordanian-Hungarian forum of about 100 businesspeople in Amman on Monday.
Over the past three years, the Government has considerably transformed Hungary and made it the most competitive nation in Europe, which will yield fruit in the years to come, the Prime Minister said, adding that he regards intensifying economic relations as promising. When Jordan chooses to invest in Hungary it is investing in the economically promising Central European region, which, in future, will be the engine of growth within the European Union, he said.
Earlier today, he met his Jordanian counterpart Abullah Ensour, and both Prime Ministers envisage good opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
The Hungarian Prime Minister arrived in Amman on an official visit on Sunday. The Hungarian delegation includes Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga, Minister of National Development Zsuzsanna Németh and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó.
State Secretary Szijjártó said earlier that the Prime Minister is also accompanied by 40 Hungarian businessmen, who would discuss investment opportunities with local partners within he fields of health, environmental projects, engineering and financial services.
